Acceptable Use

Instayar runs on Meta’s official API, so every rule Meta sets for content, advertising and messaging applies directly to your account. This page summarises those rules so you don’t lose your account or your automations.

Why this page matters

Your Instagram account is yours, but Meta writes the rules. Breaking them can mean a rejected ad, restricted messaging, or a fully disabled account — and every automation you built stops with it.

Instayar cannot lift a restriction Meta has applied. Following the rules from the start is the only reliable path.

Meta changes these rules without notice. If you are unsure whether something you want to send or promote is allowed, ask Instayar support before you publish it.

Meta advertising standards — Health & Wellness

If you work in weight loss, supplements, cosmetics, skincare or medical services, this section applies to you directly.

Prohibited — your ad will be rejected

  • Statements of inferiority about physical appearance — any negative attack on someone’s body or hygiene
  • Close-ups of a specific body area, such as pinching fat
  • Claiming results achievable solely by using wearable products
  • Promoting skin whitening or bleaching products that permanently change skin colour
  • Claiming to cure, heal or eliminate incurable or terminal conditions — diabetes, cancer, ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, HIV, autism, herpes (managing symptoms is allowed)
  • Clickbait tactics: sensational or exaggerated claims, or promising specific outcomes within a set timeframe without disclaimers
  • Sex toys and erotic products, sexual services, and adult entertainment businesses

Allowed, but restricted to 18+ audiences

  • Weight loss and weight gain supplements and pills — before/after images and result timeframes are permitted here
  • Cosmetic procedures including augmentation, fillers and laser treatments
  • General cosmetic products, procedures and surgeries showing before-and-after transformations
  • Sexual and reproductive health products addressing dysfunction, menopause and contraception
  • Fertility services, family planning and counselling

No age restriction

  • Fitness equipment and general wellness services
  • General food and protein products
  • Non-permanent beauty products and apps
  • Dental products
  • Menstrual tracking apps
  • Sex education with no sexualised content

Acceptable use of messaging automation

These are Instayar’s rules of use. Because Instayar runs on Meta’s official API, breaking them puts your Instagram account at risk as well as your Instayar account.

Harassment and discrimination

  • Harassing, abusing, insulting, defaming, stalking, threatening or intimidating individuals or groups
  • Discriminating on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin or disability

Other people’s private information

  • Posting personal contact information of others without consent
  • Sharing private messages, photos or documents without permission
  • Disclosing confidential business or personal information
  • Publishing private location data or tracking information

Illegal and harmful activity

  • Any unlawful purpose, or soliciting others to take part in unlawful acts
  • Uploading or transmitting viruses or any other malicious code
  • Collecting or tracking other people’s personal information without authorisation
  • Content that is obscene or that exploits or endangers minors
  • Deepfakes, manipulated media or misleading AI-generated content
  • Misinformation designed to deceive or harm

Gambling and regulated activities

  • Real-money gambling, casinos or betting services where prohibited by law
  • Advertising gambling services where such advertising is illegal
  • Payment processing or facilitation for prohibited gambling
  • Circumventing gambling restrictions via redirects or masked links

Spam, fraud and impersonation

  • Sending unsolicited bulk messages, chain letters or spam
  • Creating fake login pages or payment forms (phishing)
  • Redirecting users to malicious websites
  • Using false pretenses to obtain personal information
  • Automated data collection or scraping
  • Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation
  • Submitting false or misleading information to end users

Link and redirect abuse

  • Using URL shortening to redirect to prohibited content
  • Masking the true destination from users
  • Circumventing platform restrictions via redirects
  • Creating redirect chains to obscure the final destination

Platform integrity

  • Interfering with or circumventing any security feature of the service
  • Using automated systems to access the service outside authorised interfaces
  • Deciphering, decompiling or reverse engineering the software
  • Abusing trial or rebate offerings
  • Infringing the intellectual property rights of Instayar or any third party

Third-party platform policies

  • Any use that violates the policies of Meta (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp) is also prohibited here
  • Encouraging or enabling anyone else to do any of the above is equally prohibited

Consent and opt-out

Consent is what separates healthy automation from spam. These principles are not optional.

  • Only message people who started the conversation or gave explicit consent
  • Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous — pre-ticked or hidden consent does not count
  • People must be able to withdraw consent at any time, and it must be easy
  • Stop sending immediately once someone opts out
  • Respect Meta’s messaging windows; do not send promotional messages outside them
  • Identify yourself clearly — people should know which business they are talking to

What happens if the rules are broken

Enforcement is usually graduated, but a severe violation can go straight to a permanent ban.

  1. 1A warning or in-product notice
  2. 2Specific messaging channels restricted
  3. 3Temporary account suspension
  4. 4Permanent ban of the account and any associated accounts
  5. 5Notification to Meta and other platform partners
  6. 6Referral to law enforcement where required
